In case you don't know, this is a muskrat--tiny little critter (about 4 pounds), very busy, and lightening quick. It showed up in the creek while the beavers were repairing the damn below our deck. Turns out muskrats are known to live peacefully with beavers, in their dens, as sentries, cause who can't use a house sitter to look after things. The beavers have returned to the larger pond to the west of here, and the muskrat is now in full charge.
