Playing to strength

Peter French was a cattle baron in Southeast Oregon who believed that if he bought up all the land around you, you'd have to sell him your parcel, and if you didn't, he might whip you for trespassing (which is what got him killed). But Peter French could build barns. This one (called Long Barn) was built in the 1880s and is 150 feet (46 m) long and 50 feet (15 m) wide.
