Bridge of the Gods

The Bridge of the Gods in Cascade Locks sits exquisitely between conifer forests in Oregon and Washington about 50 miles east of Portland.

Rivals Burlington Northern Sante Fe (BNSF) and Union Pacific (UP) run opposite each other, the BNSF tracks on the Washington shore and the UP in Oregon. On both sides Native American fishing platforms dot the river east of Bonneville Dam; gifted to the local tribes, they were restitution for the seizure and demise of sacred fishing grounds at Celilo Falls.
