Great horned owls

While it's difficult to tell if the one on the right is a Mama or Papa great horned owl, I highly suspect it's a Mama based on the stink-eye she gave me when I surprised them during a flight lesson break on a goat farm near Joseph, Oregon. Because youngsters don't have full "horns" (made of feathers) until 26 weeks, this bold and fully annoyed baby is somewhat less than six months old. While I joke and tell people that wild animals don't pose, these two were so stunned by my appearance from behind a bush, it caused them to strike a pose.
