People in Western Oregon and Washington are so manic about snow that forecasts trigger rumblings about impending storms that become THE topic of discussion. Because it is so rare, we love snow. We just don't know what to do when it falls. The forecast for the past weekend promised flurries at least by Sunday, likely Monday. And we commenced the great countdown. We hunger to rescue the Flexible Flyer from the rafters in the garage to slice down the snow covered hill in front of the house. To put this in perspective Valdez, Alaska has more than 322 inches of snow and continues business as usual while people here who MAY see a flurry refuse invitations to go out and have been released from work tomorrow because it might snow.
